Jupiter Series 3

A fluid wave wraps around a seated figure in this hand-cast bronze relief sculpture, reminding us of the connection between humans and Earth.

Created using the lost wax process, the piece is first sculpted from clay, and a wax mold is created. At the bronze foundry, the piece is repeatedly dipped in ceramic to form a heat-resistant shell into which the liquid bronze is poured.

After being removed from the mold, the bronze is smoothed, sandblasted, and mounted to a black granite base before being accented with green and gold patinas and coated with wax.

Part of the artist’s “Jupiter” series begun during Covid quarantine.
