Wild Poppies

Impressed abstract flowers and a bright splash of red adorn both sides of the Wild Poppies Basket. Hand-formed using slabs of buff-colored stoneware clay and floral impressions made by the artist, the upper portion of this is the natural color of the stoneware clay; the lower portion is decorated in a vivid matte red glaze accented by a rubbed-in dark oxide The inside of the vessel is finished with an off-white stain glaze. A sturdy, hand-tied rattan handle adds a bold, organic touch.
