Batik Gondola
Ceramic Bowl

This beautiful vessel is handbuilt from slabs of stoneware clay. The impressed pattern comes from antique batik stamps inherited from a friend. This piece is beautiful as a centerpiece, mantel piece, or as a pretty place to store mail or stash those remote controls. Its long and narrow shape works very well if you need to conserve a little space against a backsplash or buffet. It really shines in the center of an island or dining table.
The interior is glazed in a light colored faux ash glaze, and the exterior is a slate gray with the batik pattern having a black underglaze which gives more depth to the pattern. This piece can be used for serving food and makes a striking addition to any table or mantel.
