Sky Inquiry, Tribute Series

Inspired by the upward gazing horse sculpture of Marino Marini, this horse is created from the ground up, featuring altered, wheel-thrown, and extruded forms. The fluid black and turquoise glazes echo the blue sky into which the horse gazes; both glazes are colored with different forms of copper and fired in an oxidation atmosphere, resulting in fascinating form and texture.
