Picasso's Garden
Ceramic Vase Assortment
Created by
Jean Elton
An explosion of color, rhythm, and artistic spontaneity, Picasso’s Garden is a masterful ensemble of TallVases, each infused with a dynamic interplay of pattern and form. Like a garden in full bloom, this collection bursts with energy, where bold, mosaic-like compositions dance across the matte exteriors. Vivid blues, fiery oranges, and electric greens intermingle in a free-spirited display, evoking the expressive brushwork and unconventional geometry of the ensemble’s namesake.
Each vessel in this grouping maintains its own personality while contributing to the overall harmony of the arrangement. The interior surfaces—deep cobalt, golden ochre, and vibrant chartreuse—add an unexpected dimension, offering a contrast that enhances the vibrancy of the composition. The juxtaposition of interior and exterior colors creates a layered visual experience, drawing the eye to the interplay between structured patterns and fluid energy.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
Each piece in this ensemble bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its unique serial number. As with all JeanElton Ensembles, Picasso’s Garden is not available as individual pieces but as a unified work, an artistic composition greater than the sum of its parts.
