Yellow Spiral Ikebana
Ceramic Vase
Created by
Thomas Harris
Wheel-thrown, cut and altered vessel. This was an attempt by the artist to apply his techniques of altering vessels to a low, wide flower vase, often used in the Japanese art of flower arranging, Ikebana. The exterior is layered with yellow, orange and black underglazes, then sanded, to reveal the vibrant strata of color. The interior is glazed with a semi-glossy red cone six glaze. Can hold 12 oz. of water. Hand wash. Sold individually.
