Gold Iridescent Foil Saggar Fired Raku Vessel V
Ceramic Vessel
Created by
Natalya Sevastyanova
Soft metallic color and contrasting dark speckles bloom over the surface of this asymmetrical ceramic vessel. Utilizing a creative interpretation of saggars, Sevastyanova wraps her works in aluminum foil before raku firing to create unique color variations.
Saggars are lidded containers used to enclose pots in a kiln, which create special atmospheric conditions that produce unique, one-of-a-kind coloring and pattern.
