Ceramic Wall Sculpture
Created by
Frank Nemick
Gracefully displaying fired clay discs set atop sturdy extruded clay tubes, this wall sculpture by Frank Nemick is a meditation in balance. The entrancing pattern of the hand-thrown discs comes from the artist's expert use of the naked raku technique, and the clay tubes are raku-fired with glazes and multi-hued. All naked raku pieces have several coats of terra sigillata and are hand-polished, with an easy-to-clean protective coating.
Each assembly is firmly and securely held together with a custom made steel armature. Installs in two separate pieces; includes hanging hardware and a template for hanging
