Tree Bones in the Southwest
Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by
Karen Schulz
Tree Bones in the Southwest was inspired by a photo taken by the artist on a hike of the North Rim in the Grand Canyon. The dead, bleached pine trees glistened in the sun, proclaiming their presence.
This piece is made with hand-dyed cotton fabric, batting, and thread. It is machine pieced, fused, and machine quilted. The trees are machine stitched, and couched. There are hanging sleeves on the top and bottom with wooden slats provided for easy installation.
