Black Shapes 1

Part of the Shapes series, Black Shapes 1 is what grew from a 5 X 8 inch fabric "sketch". What results is a powerfully dynamic image that pulls the viewer in close. The intricate quilting stitch echoes the overall shapes, and is a hallmark of Schulz's excellent craftsmanship.

This piece is made of commercial cotton and hand dyed fabrics. It is machine pieced and quilted. Sleeves for hanging slats are attached to the back of the piece top and bottom for stability. Two hanging slats are included for easy installation.
