Shadowy Figures
Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by
Barbara Danzi
"Shadowy Figures" is an improvisational study in figure and ground tension, grey values, and scale. Barbara Danzi exaggerated the differences in size, scale, curve, thickness, and how much each figure intertwines. Danzi designed this without pre-planning, sketching, or pattern making, and cut all the pieces freehand without rulers or templates. After sewing on her machine, she layered the design on top of cotton batting and a fabric backing and sew lines of quilting stitches through all three layers which adds a nice texture.
Quilt has a fabric sleeve on the back and includes a wooden slat which fits in the sleeve for hanging.
