Caribbean Thoughts Mashup

It took a lifetime to create "Caribbean Thoughts Mashup." As a sophomore student at the Rhode Island School of Design, the artist wrote in her color journal that she wanted to create an image where the figurative foreground and the background were the same. She experimented for years with traditional materials. When digital imagery was developed, she found a new medium. The image combines a bust she sculpted of herself with an oil painting created in the Dominican Republic in the 1980s. This piece was used to promote the 2020 Hudson River Museum's "Women to the Fore" exhibition. She is delighted to offer, for the first time, a paper print for your enjoyment.
