Apparition

This is an acrylic painting and fabric collage on gallery-wrapped canvas. The composition is first sketched with charcoal onto the canvas surface. Beautiful, patterned fabrics are then cut and glued onto the surface of the painting and acrylic paints are applied. In this work, the iridescent fabric of a turquoise sari, mica chips suspended in translucent acrylic paint, and gold lame give an ethereal quality to this depiction of what the animals saw from Noah's ark.
