Paper and fabric are hand printed and collaged to archival, handmade French paper. Layers of acrylic paint and glazes are applied on top of the collage to create texture and a luminous depth. Calligraphic marks are made while the paint is wet. The beige area features a piece of heirloom handwoven linen from the 1800's. Rich copper and bronze paint create a glimmering surface. The reverse side of a floral designer fabric is used to create a subtle impression. Blue paint is a strong contrast to the coppery reds and browns. The writing is personal and meant to be undecipherable. The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted. Wired and ready to hang.
