Teletype #52 Series

The transferred image is an inverse scan of Teletype tape used to send and receive messages prior to fax or any digital communication that we know. Holes punched in the strip of tape were read by special machines and translated to alphanumeric characters.

The pieces in this series will each reflect similar attributes using the Teletype tape image (dots) and transparent bright colors that allow the underlying aluminum surface to show through, overlaid with stripes in black or silver.

Image transfer, ink and acrylic on aluminum. Panels are hung using a French cleat type bracket and sit 1" away from the wall. Clean black edge trim of the aluminum panel.
