Plaster brings smooth texture to the wooden substrate of this boldly patterned mixed-media wall sculpture.The unique surface treatment and designs are made using collage elements and encaustic paint—a type of pigmented wax applied in a liquid state and worked with a palette knife. Oil stick lines are applied to the surface to create a transition between colors.Finished on three sides. The boat form is a wooden found object, leafed and varnished.
