Garden Scene Earrings

My work begins as drawings in a sketchbook, birds and flowers and bugs all found in the backyard garden. The drawings are then uploaded into my lasercutter and I can 're-draw' them into the surface of the pearl or stone- rearranging, repeating, collaging. Once the surface is etched, I inlay ink to highlight the designs, then set the stones into sterling silver settings which are then oxidized. To extend the life of the patina and ink, please refrain from wearing this jewelry in the shower, or any bodies of water.
