A Murder of Crows Ascending a Cornfield

Oil Painting

Artist Catherine Picard-Gibbs captured the energy of a group of crows—also called a "murder"—ascending from a cornfield on a moody autumn day. Created on 0.02 gauge copper, deep blue-gray and yellow hues combine with bits of the copper backing showing through, adding a dazzling, reflective quality to the piece. The texture of the piece is achieved through the artist's expert use of brushes and palette knives. Sprayed with a clear lacquer to prevent oxidation, it's housed in a black cradle frame. Wired and ready to hang.
