Happening by the Pond

This is a fun, whimsical painting. It is full of mostly warm colors, lots of movement and interesting, unexpected shapes. The main colors are orange, pink, white, black and a bit of blue. Although colorful, the colors work together in harmony with a bit of surprise. There are various textures which add interest to the piece. Schwartz's motivation was, when on a walk in spring, she noticed all the new colorful blooms spring has to offer near a large pond. She used the colors of Iris, daffodils, tulips, and freesia as her inspiration. Sides painted a solid color.
