The Thin Line
One of a Kind
This diptych is made from pigmented paper pulp that the artist built up in many layers, often spreading the pulp on top thinly so one could see the layers underneath. This painting is more architectural than the artist's normal style, but she enjoyed pouring the pulp around the edges of french curves and triangles to make sharp lines. Davies also used strings dipped in pulp and laid on top to make delicate lines. Shipped ready to frame.
