Lily Pads Shawl

Silk chiffon is graced with a velvet pattern of lily pads scattered in a pond. Devorè, sometimes referred to as burnout velvet, is made from solid velvet that is stenciled with a paste that removes some rayon pile and leaves the silk backing intact. Patterns are then hand painted, creating an iridescent array of tones. Rolled and sewn edges. Equally beautiful with jeans or with a special-occasion dress.
