Downeast Necklace

Inspired by the beauty of coastal Maine, where each mornings dawning light first touches our shores. This abstract sculptural study captures the essence of the sun rising each day out of an azure blue sea. Sculpted over a hand fabricated reinforced armature, the wave is veneered with a thin layer of colorful polymer clay, cured at each stage. The large red sun is a counter-drilled bead, artfully concealing a clever magnetic clasp where it kisses the sea form. The results are strong sculptural elements, that really make a statement when secured to a striking multi-strand stainless steel cable.

The necklace measures 10"L, 7.5"W, .8"D. Each piece made by this artist features a hand carved and backfilled signature block on the back, ensuring that each piece is uniquely yours.
