Teal, Green and Magenta II

In each of artist Nancy Simonds's abstract gouache paintings on paper, different arrangements of colored blocks, ovals, and arcs create a feeling of ordered transcendence. Simond's name for these paintings is "anti-chaos"; infused with luxuriant color and sublime, soft texture.

She applies the paint with a sable brush granting the work a beautiful translucency and depth of color; she also employs a special blotting technique, dabbing the colors to create delicate, textured surfaces. Ships unframed, requires hanging hardware.
