Alar Coffee Table

The top of this artful coffee table is a thick, highly figured slab of solid walnut supported by three graceful-but-sturdy, lathe-turned walnut legs. The top has been trimmed to an asymmetrical free-form shape, and the edges have been hand-shaped to a bull nose profile; one small area of live edge remains. Tenons at the tops of the legs pierce through the top and are glued and fastened with contrasting maple wedges, and some small natural cracks have been filled with blackened epoxy; one has been secured with a maple "bow tie". Finished with hand applied polyurethane.
