Moonrise
Wood Console Table
Created by
Carol Jackson
The abstract horizon on "Moonrise" was inspired by a branch of mathematics called circle packing, the arrangement of circles of various sizes on a two-dimensional surface so that there is no overlapping and all of the circles touch adjacent ones.
Circles of eight different sizes have been drilled into this table top and underlaid with aluminum to create a three-dimensional landscape shimmering in the light of a full moon.
