Parabolic Curves
Wood Console Table
Created by
Carol Jackson
The exacting beauty of mathematics is on display in this striking piece by artist Carol Jackson, which blurs the line between furniture and sculpture.
Fifty-one matte black aluminum tubes form parabolic shapes on either side of a rich, quarter-sawn white oak top, supported by matte black aluminum legs. Jackson utilized precise mathematical formulas in order to determine the length and angle of each tube, making for a strong piece with a clean silhouette.
