Bluebird Boy

Every year, artist Elizabeth Frank journeys to the mountains near her home to collect aspen wood, which she then dries and shapes on a bandsaw before carving it into the delicate forms featured in her work. This memorable sculpture, carved from that same fallen aspen, depicts a bird lover offering gifts to his friend, perched whimsically atop his head. Standing on a base made with an antique corbel from India, his "gifts" are composed of found objects, antique Roman glass, and recycled glass beads. Painted with acrylic and finished with wax, this piece will bring whimsical beauty to your shelf, tabletop or mantle.
