Journey Boat: Couple with Bird

Carved from wood using a bandsaw and hand painted with enamel, this allegorical sculpture explores themes of adventure and discovery, carrying in its hull a couple holding a single bird, with a bee carved into the bow. On the underside of the boat is a quote from Rumi: "In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty how to make poems."
