Minke Whales

Each of these beautiful Minke whale sculptures is shaped on a bandsaw and sander, then further carved with a rotary tool, lending them exquisite detail. Painted in latex enamel, they feature acrylic overlays as well as acrylic micaceous oxide—a coating that provides a shimmering, reflective quality.

Each whale also contains a meditative quote on its belly, as the artist seeks to build connection with her work and the natural world around her.
