Standing Bird
Wood Sculpture
Created by
Charles Adams
This sculpture represents a whimsical bird supported on a flat-black painted stand similar to a traditional mounted, natural history specimen. The character of the bird is revealed in the stance, surface and expressive flowing form. Made of oak, walnut, mahogany and baltic birch, the muscle and wing form seem to be defined by the wood inlaid surface. The piece has a protective, varnished coating and requires only light dusting.
