Vane

"Vane" is a small table with a top made from carefully matched burl veneer applied to a core of poplar plywood. The hourglass-shaped base is constructed from .125" solid wood laminations bent and glued together over a curved form. The parts of the base are doweled, glued, and screwed together, sanded with fine-grit sandpaper, then finished with hand-applied polyurethane. Because the pattern of burl veneer is a natural occurrence, each top will be unique. Available with a walnut burl top and cherry base or with a madrone burl top and walnut base. Given time, cherry wood will darken to a rich patina.
