The "Brick Heart Wall Sculpture" is from the artist's Heartfelt Series. It is made from a massive block of African Mahogany that is laminated in true butcher block style where the end grain is facing out which creates a subtle and visually inviting mosaic pattern.
It's a demanding and labor-intensive piece to sculpt due to the hardness of the end grain. The sculpting begins with chainsaws and disc grinders and is finished off with miniature die grinders and jeweler's files. The Brick Heart is finished with polyurethane which is virtually maintenance-free. Wall cleat, mollies for 1/2" and 5/8" drywall, and hanging instructions are included. Strawberry is used for scale only.
