Checkers
Wood Wall Sculpture
Created by
Bruce Chapin
A sculpture created from found objects, salvaged wood, and plywood under the structure. “Checkers” ears are from chainsaw bars stripped of their baked on paint, the eyes are from rusty metal end caps from a wooden roller and washers and a bearing, the head a salvaged weathered piece of wood, and the nose a rusty rake ferrule. The body has plywood under the structure covered in salvaged lathing from a plaster wall. The legs are chair spindles and handle from a wooden clamp and a chisel. Minor assembly required. Ready to hang.
