Alexan Cerna and Gina Tackett
"I'm inspired by the lure of the sea. I want my jewelry forms to be graceful and sensual and have movement and spontaneity."
Alexan Cerna has explored many aspects of jewelry making, combining her artistic sensibilities with a love of working with her hands. She has studied jewelry design, wax carving and casting, stone setting and hand fabrication, and has apprenticed with a German master goldsmith. The result is jewelry made with superior craftsmanship and a casual yet sophisticated style.
Alexan uses sterling silver and 24K gold accented with pearls. She views each jewelry piece as its own small art object, focusing on its texture, movement, and color. She aims to make her jewelry an uplifting experience for anyone who wears or views it.
The artist's work has been featured on the Today Show as well as the ears, necks, and wrists of countless satisfied customers.
