"I live in the midst of an enchanted landscape where nature is my inspiration. There I find beauty in abundance; varied, complex, sublime. Rather than copy it, I study it, and breathe in its brilliance. Then I create a painting that tells a most beautiful story."

Not only does Jane Troup infuse her paintings with nature's radiance, but by pairing familiar objects with surreal forms, she challenges the viewer to see the world through her eyes, to reinterpret the everyday, to embrace the spiritual, and to revel in glorious color.

The artist uses an Old Masters technique, laying down base coats of paint and slowly building up the paint layers. This use of oils creates a beautifully smooth surface.

Troup approaches the painting like a sculptor or set designer, visualizing every form in three dimensions before she paints it.

above and beyond
there are a group of people including myself that walk their dogs to the park every saturday morning. Once in the park the dogs are free to run and play with each other without leashes. There are dogs of many different breads, shapes and sizes. One particular person brings his bulldog and his pug. When I saw this "Dog Park II" print in your catalog I couldn't believe that among all the dogs pictured there was a bulldog and a pug sitting next to one another. I purchased the print as a gift for the owner of the pug and bulldog. [...]. I was also contacted by email thanking me for my order. I absolutely love the print! It was much nicer than I expected, and the quality of service was above and beyond my expectations.

Great Comfort!
This picture always warms my heart and makes me smile. The faces on the dogs resemble dogs I know. Love this picture.
