Michael Trimpol and Monique LaJeunesse's work explores the nature of the glass. They feel a particular love for glass in its molten state, and they channel that love into the creation of objects of beauty and originality: vases, perfume bottles, and more.
The artists work with glass using traditional techniques, gathering and blowing the molten glass until each piece achieves the balance and harmony they are striving for. They often incorporate processes such as cold working, sandblasting, cutting, and polishing in order to accentuate or focus on characteristics of the material.

First I want to say that this is a beautiful paperweight. However, I was under the impression that upon taking it out of its packaging it would look like the picture. It doesn't. All that you initially see is the center (bottom) egg shape of color. There is no crescent shape of color on the bottom nor color on the top. After contacting Artful Home, I discovered that on one side of the paperweight there is a small section of glass that has been cut flat. Viewing the paperweight from that side I am able to see a small crescent of color on the bottom. Nothing on the top. AH contacted the artist and I was also told that it depends on the amount of light that emanates through the paperweight (sorry do not know the correct terminology). I have a lot of light and it is sitting by a window. I have yet to replicate the picture on the website.

Received my sm. Bubble Lagoon paperweight today. Love that it goes beautifully with my other Trimpoli/Lajeunesse pieces, that are also in Lagoon.
I purchased the Bubble Paperweight in topaz and it really makes a nice statement in my display case. I almost bought the grape color (and still might!) but I was looking for a pop of color! I collect paperweights and don't have very many in the yellow tone so I am so glad I made this purchase.
It is a must have!!!! I hope the artist will make this in different colors for me for next Easter!!!
