"Nature is truly perfect in its creation—impossible to reproduce. I do not strive to recreate the natural world exactly; instead, I try to capture the essence of the animal I am sculpting, not only in its physical features, but also its attitude and spirit. "

Grant Garmezy grew up on a working farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee. From a young age, he was fascinated by exploring the fields and forest surrounding his home. His early memories of growing up in a rural environment continue to influence his work. Today, he creates work inspired by the natural world and strives to capture movement and life in his glass sculptures.

Garmezy starts each piece by gathering molten glass onto a metal pipe, then sculpting it with a variety of metal and wood hand tools. He does not use molds, ensuring that every piece is one of a kind.

Grant Garmezy earned a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University with an emphasis on glassblowing. Upon graduation, he was awarded an international residency in Scotland. The Royal Scottish Academy awarded him the Benno Schotz Award for most promising young sculptor in the UK. He has been invited to exhibit his work all over the world, including Seoul, Edinburgh, Prague, Paris, and Istanbul.

Picture Not Close to What We Received

I know these are custom made but the colors were very different then what is shown in the picture. Unlike the picture we had to turn them upside down to see the three colors.

Sunrise / antler set

I just received my order for the Sunrise antler set. They are gorgeous! I put them on my sideboard flanked by an 1860's silver wine Cellarette and a 19th century 21" tall marble cherub. A sample large piece of abstract art hangs above the sideboard for now (I have commissioned an artist to create a large art piece in colors of teal, pink, etc. It will arrive in July). I wanted the juxtaposition between the antique and the contemporary. Mission accomplished! Thank you, artist Garmezy for your included handwritten note.

TRULY UNIQUE & VERSATILE!

I love, love, love this glass sculpture in the Bubblegum pink which now sits atop my white mid-century bureau in my bedroom. Due to the color, it is very feminine. Antlers have the overall true pink color of bubblegum without being garish plus my antler stems have a subtle hint of peach, barely noticeable underneath in addition to the silvery gold streaks on the inner stem of antlers. Very beautiful piece. Also, like that the sculptor shows another way of placing the antlers which makes the piece more abstract, if that is to your liking. I actually like the versatility of placement to one's own preference and that the artist shows both ways online.

Completely different color than pictured.

Hi. I had ordered the smoky antlers, which are pictured as a taupe color, but they are a frosty slate blue color. Completely different color than what was pictured.

Housewarming Gift. Hope they love it!

I saw the antlers in a catalog almost a year ago and decided it would be the perfect housewarming for my sister's dream home in the country. They are avid hunters and the home is a large, beautiful Colorado themed house in Texas. There are several lighted display cabinets in the house. I thought these would be an elegant addition. I feel the price is very reasonable for the size and unique quality of the piece.
