Inspired by dreams about the earth, this wheel-thrown and altered ceramic sculpture is a striking form with great presence. The surface gleams with a finish of copper pigment, and, in the center, freshwater pearls shimmer from an artful tangle of black wire. Sealed with lacquer and mounted on a steel base with a powder-coated satin black finish.

Absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't give justice to the richness of the patina. The shape is classic, perfectly aligned but then there are those whimsical beads in the center which add a capricious flavor to the piece. Top fits very securely into the base.
