Ceramic Wall Sculpture
Created by
Emil Yanos
Inspired by the fascinating patterns and shapes found in topographic maps, this ceramic wall sculpture by Emil Yanos features several layers of eye-catching shapes, which Yanos layers onto a tile before adding texture via clay impressions. This texturing is enhanced by multiple applications of underglaze, after which the pieces are fired at high temperature then reassembled using Yanos' unique take on kintsugi.
Tiles are sealed to prevent oxidation and mounted to birch panel with vertical strips, allowing the piece to "float" on the wall. Wired and ready to hang.
