Wall Sculpture Study #1

This hand-carved wall sculpture is made using a rich red earthenware clay body. Using a sgraffito technique on the surface, a black underglaze is applied while leather hard, then carved away exposing the clay body's natural color. Each tile floats off the wall slightly and can be hung using picture hooks or small nails. A hanging guide for spacing is included. Individual tiles measure 9.5"HX3.5"W.
