Parisian Pigeons
Etching
Created by
Barbara Stikker
This image was inspired by the many pigeons on the low walls surrounding the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
This is an aquatint etching. The zinc plate was etched in acid until it was uniformly black, and the lights were burnished in. Following the printing of the zinc plate, Stikker printed a second drop with pale yellow ochre rolled on a plexiglass plate.
The image is printed on acid-free paper. The image size is 8 inches by 10 inches. Limited edition of 15.
