Go Lightly

"I am a mostly self-taught clothing designer and seamstress whose love of handwork was born at a very early age. "

Designer Kiki Verveniotis launched Go Lightly in the early nineties in New York City, and it has since become a beloved go-to collection for women who appreciate spirited, ageless, trend-proof style as well as superfine workmanship. These are pieces to keep forever.

Kiki Verveniotis's first and most precious memories were of summer trips to her family's Greek island. While there, her aunts taught her to do needlework, as every young girl spent years building a collection of handworked linens and decorations intended for their own homes after they married. Today, the designer works out of her little house by the water in East Norwalk Harbor, Connecticut, where she sews every piece herself.

Elegant stylized piece

I simply adore this piece. Its exaggerated boxiness gives it a true kimono feel. The generosity of fabric is at once elegant and playful. I know this will become a staple of my wardrobe. I can't wait for temperatures to drop enough for me to wear it!!

Terrific jacket

I was afraid it would be too much fabric but it looks just fine. I'm short and have an average build.

Lovely lightweight jacket

I bought the Red Pepper, which looks like a rust shade to me. Not quite what I expected from the image online, but very nice. The jacket drapes beautifully, and it's very comfortable and functional to wear, unlike some kimono jackets that have excessive fabric in the sleeves. I expect that it will be an all-season favorite.

Just right!

Love this kimono style jacket. The fabric drapes beautifully, and it not too flimsy or too heavy. Just right when you want a lightweight wrap that is flattering and comfy.
