Linda Jacobson
Linda Jacobson paints lyrical interpretations of nature: its elements of form, fluidity, and light, and its essence, an energy or quality that goes beyond appearances. Her work depicts a rhythmic movement of swirling form and undulating waves of color and light that flow into each other. She expresses her experience of the energy and the magic of nature through visual movement and color.
Jacobson creates her paintings with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas, giving her work a luminous and translucent quality. The vivid, saturated, jewel-like colors and strong compositional elements express the spiritual essence of nature.
Linda Jacobson attended Otis Art Institute and received her degrees from CSUN. She also graduated summa cum laude from the prestigious Art Center School in Pasadena, California. As a young artist, she had the privilege of being mentored by pioneering modernist and hard-edge classicist Lorser Feitelson. He inspired in her the courage and commitment of a life devoted to painting.
