"Candle Triptic" is handcrafted using wooden blocks and newspaper to work with the molten glass in order to help form the shape. The veils of color are layered to bring Kachurik's unique design to life. The air bubble is suspended in the design. Each flat surface goes through six different steps of grinding and polishing to achieve the optical polished finish. The facets are added to give visual enhancement to the interior glass veiling.

Kachurik's transparent sculptures maximize the extraordinary inherent qualities of glass. Each piece is unique and will vary slightly. Signed by the artist.

"My spirit is set free when I work with hot glass. I lose myself in the transformation of glass, from the molten state to the finished pieces of crystal. My heart and soul are in each piece I create. I consider myself very fortunate to do something I truly love. I am grateful to everyone who appreciates my veiled art glass sculptures."

Edward Kachurik lives in New Kensington, PA where he has created original, handmade veiled glass art sculptures since 1978. Edward is a world-class master artist who possesses a classic ability to become one with his creative process, which is a labor-intensive process indeed. His use of the unique veiling process has earned him accolades and a loyal customer fan base throughout the world. His innovative and inspired application of precious metals on hot glass produces mesmerizing colors who's subtle brilliance and captivating beauty must literally be seen and felt to be appreciated. His sculptures are made with love, dedication, creativity, and devotion. His works seem to breathe with a life of their own—especially when early morning rays of sunlight touch the optical glass finish producing a full-spectrum rainbow in your home or office. They are nothing short of magical.

Edward uses a technique of coloring the hot glass surface called veiling. A veil is a metallic coating which is applied to the hot glass then covered with clear glass, thus trapping the color inside the sculpture. He is an independent glass artist who experiments with precious metals and chemicals to create many of his own colors, which are unique to his line today. These transparent sculptures maximize the extraordinary inherent qualities of glass. Every design is handcrafted using wooden blocks and newspaper to help shape the molten glass. After the sculptures have been annealed, they are hand ground and polished. Each flat surface of the sculpture must go through six different steps of polishing to achieve the optical polished finish. The facets are added to give visual enhancement to the interior glass veiling. Each piece is personally signed.

Edward began working with hot glass in 1978. He attended Penland School in North Carolina and Pennsylvania State University. He has taken the technical aspects of his studies at Penland School and combined them with his innate talent to create his beautiful work. He skillfully developed his clean lines, facets, and beautiful colors over his 42 years of innovation and self-expression.
