Bands of color drape the shoulders of this blown glass vase. The artists use the incalmo technique to carefully join three separate cylinders of molten glass, then blow them into the final shape. The flattened profile makes it ideal for narrow surfaces. Each piece is handmade; size and color distribution will vary.

"Our work deals with creating harmony in the balance of form and color. "

Michael Trimpol and Monique LaJeunesse's work explores the nature of the glass. They feel a particular love for glass in its molten state, and they channel that love into the creation of objects of beauty and originality: vases, perfume bottles, and more.

The artists work with glass using traditional techniques, gathering and blowing the molten glass until each piece achieves the balance and harmony they are striving for. They often incorporate processes such as cold working, sandblasting, cutting, and polishing in order to accentuate or focus on characteristics of the material.
