In creating this stylish bracelet, artist Diana Ferguson wished to celebrate balance and symmetry and chose to do so with a rhythmic, geometric pattern motif and a dimensional triangle, bead-stitched closure. This bracelet, stitched using tiny glass cylinder beads, needle, and monofilament thread, is reversible and available in Chartreuse, Picasso Red, or Turquoise.

Diana Ferguson

"I’ve been asked whether my designs are tedious to complete. They can be at times, but on the other hand, it’s a noisy world, and for me, beading is blissfully meditative. I enjoy the contemplative aspects of weaving, and the time-consuming, repetitive nature of the work lets me fully immerse myself in the creative process."

Diana Ferguson sees her jewelry designs as art – a form of self-expression, creativity, and personal enhancement. And also, a fun way to connect with the world. Her pieces mesh wearability, bold style, and a touch of whimsy with a passion for process and experimentation. The result is eclectic, ever-changing collections that are equal parts art and fashion, comfort, and personal statement. She is also mindful of the things her collectors value, such as distinctiveness, quality, ease, and versatility. On a personal level, Ferguson finds tranquility in the timeless techniques of bead-weaving and values how she can fully immerse herself in her work as needle and thread pass through beads in a timeless rhythm.

Ferguson employs a variety of off-loom bead weaving techniques in her work, from Peyote Stitch to Square Stitch and beyond. An intuitive designer, she allows color and pattern to unfold into the finished object. While the end result of her efforts may remain in play until the piece announces itself done, she is certain the outcome will contain beauty! She is fascinated with beads as structural elements and is inspired by the multitude of colors, shapes, and textures available to work with. Diana fashions her designs using needle, monofilament thread, and beads fashioned from glass, ceramic, and semi-precious stones.

Diana has a B.A. in Art and is a self-taught jewelry artist. She enjoys reading about art and individual artists, finding it inspires her to push harder in her own studio practice.
