"Dancing Girl" was inspired by a girl the artist knows, who is learning to dance. Angel-Wing tried to express the girl's joy in performing a lively piece which the artist found uplifting and inspiring as well as showing the innocent exuberance she demonstrated while twirling around the room. Angel-Wing made several studies but decided on this version of her balancing on one foot with hair flowing and arms stretched out as the most expressive of her enthusiasm that many girls who take dancing lessons have when they are young. It is cast in bronze with a gilded light patina mounted on a polished granite base and is part of the artist's figurative sculpture art. Can be placed outside in temperatures between -20 and 110 degrees F.

"My figurative bronze sculpture is an exploration of the relationship between the soft lines of the figure and the sharp architectural lines of the stand which serves as an environment for the figure. I strive to express a fluid and open movement in space."

Artist and sculptor Dina Angel-Wing creates three-dimensional art in various media, currently focusing on bronze and steel. Pieces range from figurative to abstract to interpretive. Many of her sculptures incorporate a sense of the fluid sensuality in the human figure. This is juxtaposed against angular pedestals that complement the primary piece by giving it a contextual contrast. The Dream Series explores a contemplative mood by further abstracting the figure using geometric planes and contained movement.
