Jacque Price Art
"I paint the curious and emotive experience of being human by depicting figures, wildlife and abstracted environments in playful, awkward, and elegant ways."

Jacqué aims to create a relatable, humorous, and disarming aesthetic in her work to illuminate the beauty of being human. She employs an active, decisive, and spontaneous approach that lends to her desire to live fearlessly through her art. As a way to activate the joy, peace, and playfulness that make life worth living, she has developed a process that allows her to explore her emotions with grace and ease on the canvas. For Jacqué, creating art is a mirror to creating her life, and she makes it just as amusing as it is honest. Jacque's work encourages introspection, acceptance, and belonging.

She paints loosely in alla prima with either oil or acrylic on canvas using long handled brushes and a palette knife. She connects with the canvas in fluid, gestural movements that echo the dynamic postures and forms they imply. At times she focuses intently in one area of the work, as in life, but then needs to dance, scribble, experiment, and explore what else is possible.

Jacquelyne Sharee Price (b. 1984, in California) was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her BA in Studio Art with a painting distinction in 2007. Jacqué is represented by Piper J Gallery in Truckee, Madsen Gallery in Los Altos, and four interior design showrooms in Northern California. She works and exhibits in her own by-appointment gallery and studio in Soquel, California. Jacqué was one of two owners of Mountain Arts Collective Gallery from 2021-2023, and has been featured in Style and Artist magazine.
