Lisa D'Agostino

"My passion is to work the area between classic design and modernity, subtlety and boldness. My desire is for the wearer to feel that the jewelry says something personal about them. I strive to combine these sensibilities with the highest level of craftsmanship."

Lisa D'Agostino grew up interested in art, science, and literature; her reading lists included hundreds of novels, astronomy textbooks, and nature books. Her focus has been on art, and she is inspired by the mysteries of cosmology and nature. Her work plays with the connections between natural science and art, geometry and organic form.

Each piece is formed by the artist using plastic or metal hammers. The hammer choice affects the design: plastic hammers do not make marks, while metal hammers leave marks on the surface. After forming the metal, various types of soldered constructions complete the design. D'Agostino loves complexity and creates complicated soldered pieces whenever the design calls for it.

Lisa D'Agostino received an MFA from the University of Kansas. To continue her education, she has taken workshops in many disciplines. The book "Foldforming" by Charles Lewton-Brain has greatly influenced the organic direction of her work. She has participated in hundreds of art fairs across the country.

Nice Mix of Metals

i like that the mixed metals allow the earrings to be worn with other jewelry. However, the backs are tiny and once on, are very hard to remove. I'm afraid I'm going to bend or break off the gold post. Also the hoops angle away from my face so you don't see the design from the front, even though my ears are pretty flat.

Beautiful, high quality earrings

Bought these earrings to wear with black and gold necklace I recently bought. They work great. Would suggest making the black and gold part a little wider. Also backing for posts are very cheap and difficult to put on and take off.

My new go-to earrings

I'm a devoted earring collector, and always searching for the "perfect" pair of earrings. These check all my boxes. They go with silver, gold, and bi-metal jewelry, look good with just about any outfit, and hang beautifully. They are substantial silver and gold, but not too heavy. Have had them less than 2 weeks, but they are already my new favorite earrings.
