Wendy Stauffer
Wendy Stauffer's work explores leaf and petal motifs and the rhythmic rise-and-fall wave patterns found in nature. While freeform and organic, her creations are tempered by an underlying nod to tenable structure and balance. The juxtaposition of raw and organic with delicate and romantic accents is another common theme.
As a jewelry artist, Stauffer often combines wire wrapping with traditional metalsmithing techniques in unique and original ways. She frequently pairs wire-wrapped fringe accents with bezel-set stones. She also recreates flowers and vines with precious sheet metal, wire, gems, and pearls.
Wendy Stauffer received her BS in biology from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, but soon after worked several years as a graphic designer. She is self-taught as a jewelry artist and has been selling online and in high-end boutiques since 2007.
